Linda Villarreal Trejo, passed away on Saturday the 25th of November 2023, at the age of 68. She was born on October 18th, 1955, to Carlos D. Villarreal and Mary J. Villarreal in the heart of San Antonio with her three siblings. A 1974 graduate of Brackenridge High School she spent her adolescent years playing baseball, attending dances, being a member of the purple jackets pep squad, and loading up her parent’s station wagon for trips to Gardner State Park. She would later move to Atascosa, Texas with her husband Joe E. Trejo Jr. to raise their daughter Lina Courtney Trejo and their son Jose E. “Trey” Trejo III.
Linda was devoted to her faith in God that guided her through every stage of her life. She enjoyed the little things like listening to oldies while on the porch with a cigarette in one hand and a big red in the other talking to her family and circle of friends. She was a fierce and unstoppable mother, grandmother, and friend that tackled every situation head on with unwavering strength and unconditional love. Her son was her inspiration, but nothing made her more satisfied than being a grandmother to her three grandchildren: Noah Ashton Morales (Pumpkin), Gabriel Dayne Morales (Chapulin), and Jaycee Marie Morales (Diva). Her family was everything to her and her superpower was the gift of making a lifelong friendship with someone she met in line of the women’s restroom. Her motto was “you can never have too many friends” and “it costs nothing to be kind and nice”. Linda’s hobbies include shopping, dancing, bingo, gambling, and sports.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carlos D. Villarreal; father-in-law, Joe E. Trejo; mother-in-law, Eva G. Trejo; and brother-in-law, Carlos Trejo. Linda is survived by her husband of 48 years, Joe E. Trejo; emotional support partner, Bella (Precious); daughter, Courtney; son, Trey; grandchildren, Noah, Gabriel, and Jaycee Marie; mother, Mary J Villarreal; brother, Carlos Villarreal; sisters, Rose Villarreal (Jesus) and Cindy Hinojosa (Jesse); sister-in-laws, Elida Desmond (Ed), Sandy Detamore (Tommy), Cynthia Trejo, and Dina Poduska (Daryl); and lots of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
