

Dr. Lionel N. Roger, 78, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2012, in San Antonio. He was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on April 2, 1933 to Severiano Roger and Maria Lopez. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at Andrews AFB, where he attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Dr. Roger attended Seton Hall University, and received his Internal Medicine degree from the Medical Science School at the University of Puerto Rico. He also went to NYU, where he specialized in Rheumatology. He was active in medicine for 55 years, and had a practice in San Antonio since 1994. He was a member of TMA and BMCS, a teaching appointment at the USCHC and also a fellow at ACR. He is survived by his wife, Cecilia Roger; 6 children, Lionel Roger Stefani, Sylvia Roger Stefani, Christopher Michaut, Manuel Arizpe, Carlos Arizpe, and Jorge Arizpe; and their spouses and grandchildren. A memorial visitation will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., on Friday, February 24, 2012 with the family present from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
