Uncle Lloyd would play the sleeping giant when I was very little. I would try to sneak up on him and he would wake and growl playfully and grab me into a big bear hug ❤. When I was a little older, he worked at a record store and for birthdays and Christmas he would send me Disney long playing records with picture books. I would spend all afternoon listening and singing with those stories. I wish we hadn't lived so far apart. I will remember him as my gentle giant with a big warm smile, big heart and twinkle of mischief in his eyes. Rest Soldier. Love, your niece Lyn.

Didn't know him well, but I can recall that Coach Shannon considered him the worthy successor to Tulane HOF center/linebacker Bill Goss as 62 Mustang center: "big fast Lloyd Burrows" he called him.  That's how I quoted Coach in the Declaration student newspaper.   Starr, I also remember you fondly and well. 

I have many wonderful memories of Lloyd. We were in the same class at Jefferson and acolytes together at church. Lloyd was the youngest guy in our class, I was eight days older. We laughed about always going out with older women. Rest In Peace.

Saddened to hear about my friend Lloyd.   We ran around together at Jeff, served in Viet Nam at the same time (different units), and he was a groomsman in my wedding. Till we meet again my friend!

Sincerest condolences from the Thomas Jefferson Class of 1963.  Many of us have very fond remembrances of Lloyd.  May he rest in peace.

Lloyd, thank you for all the wonderful  San Antonio history that we shared. You will be sorely missed. My sincere condolences to your family and many friends.

Sorry to learn of the loss of my long time friend from days playing on baseball and swimming teams at the YMCA in San Antonio. He was a fellow grad of Jefferson High school.  He was also a Vietnam vet who answered the call and served his country honorably.  His friendship and historical knowledge of San Antonio and Texas will certainly be missed by not only myself but many in the community.

So Sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Burrows , knew of him through his posts about San Antonio on the Things I Remember Group. My Sincere Condolences To His Loved Ones.  Rest In Peace Mr. Burrows.

I never met Mr Burrows but we did chat on Facebook.He had such great knowledge of the history of San Antonio.RIP.

Lloyd was such a good and caring person. His passing is sad for all of us in San Antonio. He will be missed. May he be with the angels!

So sorry to read this. Met Lloyd through Facebook postings but graduated in 1959 with John.  Thoughts sent out to his family.

I am so very sorry to read of the passing of a great San Antonian. I first 'met' Lloyd on my facebook group called Things I remember (and others) from growing up in San Antonio, Texas.  He was one of the 1st members and was so helpful to me.
I send my sympathies to the family.

I never met Lloyd pesonally, I only knew him through a group on Facebook that dealt with memories of growing up in San Antonio. His knowledge of all things San Antonio was unsurpassed. I know I speak for the group in saying he will be greatly missed.
