

He then joined the Navy June 30, 1975. After basic training he served on the helicopter carrier USS Guadalcanal, in the European and Middle Eastern theaters. Next he served on the carrier USS Hornet, and the carrier USS Enterprise in the Asia Pacific theaters. During these assignments, he was an electronics mechanic.
He was then stationed at the US Naval base on Guam. Next was assignment to Corpus Christi Naval Air Station, where he serviced electronics on the Navy Beechcraft Barron planes. He was honorably discharged on June 4, 1982 with the rank of Aviation Electronics Technician Second Class. He received the First Good Conduct and the Humanitarian Awards. After the Navy he worked in Corpus Christi and then in San Antonio, servicing electronics on commercial jet aircraft.
Lloyd was a great friend, a devoted Jimmy Buffet Parrothead, made a mean margarita, loved his blues music, his '55 Chevy, and hunting. He will be missed by all.
A graveside service will be held Friday, January 13, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
