

Logan attended San Antonio Academy and Texas Military Institute where he played quarterback on the football team. After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School, he attended Tulane University then served in the United States Army. After completing his military service, he resumed his education at the University of Texas at Austin.
In 1969, along with his father and brother, founded Huntress Bottling Co., bottlers of Pepsi Cola, 7-Up and Schweppes' products. During this period he served as president of the Texas Soft Drink Bottlers' Association. He was active in his community, serving on the boards of the San Antonio Zoo and Y.M.C.A of San Antonio. Logan was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. He was a member and a past president of the Governor's Club of San Antonio. Logan also enjoyed memberships in The Texas Cavaliers, Order of the Alamo, German Club and San Antonio Country Club.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Lynn Harwood Huntress; his sons, Logan Peterson Huntress, Jr. and Harwood Steves Huntress; his daughter, Dorothy (Dottie) Huntress Cooper and her husband, Doug; his adored grandchildren, Peterson, Flin and Adelaide; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Steves Harwood Hindman; brother-in-law, Edward Steves Harwood of Ft. Worth and step-sister-in-law, Garda Hindman Boswell and husband, John; his brother, Frank (Fritz) G. Huntress III and wife, Joan; his sister, Diana Huntress; cousins, Merton M. Minter and wife, Ann of Fernandina's Beach, FL, Alan H. Minter and wife, Patsy of Austin and Walter Blessey and wife, Jane Ann of New Orleans, LA and numerous much loved cousins, nieces and nephews.
Logan will always be remembered for his kindness, fun loving personality, and respect for others. He was a devoted father to his two sons with Fragile X Syndrome, passionately coaching and supporting their Special Olympics soccer and track and field teams.
He cherished many summers spent in Rockport, fishing and cruising the canals with family and friends. Logan enjoyed his fellowship with his Wednesday lunch group at the San Antonio Country Club and Friday luncheons with the Conopus Club.
He was especially proud of his daughter, Dottie and Doug, his son in law, and their three children who affectionately call him "GoGo." Logan described being a grandparent as 'one of the only things in life that's not overrated.' He loved any chance to pick up the grandchildren's carpools.
His family wishes to thank the medical staffs at the Main Methodist Hospital, RIOSA, and Christus Sister Mary Hospice Center for their devoted care during Logan's illness.
