Lola Lois Gentry

Lola grew up on a farm where she performed chores and tended to the farm animals, the horses being her favorite. In between her daily chores she loved to read. Her affinity for reading continued on through her adult life. She also enjoyed collecting train sets and related trinkets, a hobby brought on by family train trips when she was young. Eventually Lola left the farm for the big time city of San Antonio, residing at the Villa Maria Residence, a residence for young women managed by the Religious of Mary Immaculate. There she met her life partner, Juanita Magana, where they became best friends and began a life of adventures for more than 50 years. Lola worked most of her adult life for the Department of Defense. Her DoD career span three military bases, Ft Sam Houston Army base, Kelly Air Force Base, and eventually retiring out of Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma. Lola was always quick to smile and had a sunny disposition. If there was a celebration or holiday occasion where family was involved, Lola and Juanita were always there. Lola was considered a part of the Magana family. She was a good friend to all who knew her and will be dearly missed. Rest in Peace Lola.

She is preceded in death by Juanita Magana, her brother Joseph (Joe) Taylor Gentry and sister Shirley Ann Gentry Jones. She is survived by her niece Leslie Jones, nephew William Jones and all the Magana family who lovingly cared for her.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237, on October 20, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, with a Rosary Service at 7:00 pm.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St Timothy Catholic Church, 1515 Saltillo St, San Antonio, TX 78207, on October 21, 2026, at 10:00 am, followed by Committal at San Fernando Cemetery III, 1735 Cupples Rd, San Antonio, TX 78226, on October 21, 2026.

There will be no formal procession, family and friends are kindly asked to meet at church and cemetery on your own; a cemetery map will be provided by the funeral home during visitation.
