

Lora M. Thompson died peacefully on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at the age of 85. The entirety of her life was spent as a servant of the Lord next to her late husband, the Rev. John A. Thompson. She always served on the Altar Guild of parishes in Luling, Corpus Christi and San Antonio. Lora believed in the healing power of God's presence and prayed for many individuals over her lifetime, the last of which was her hospice chaplain. Her greatest joy was sharing life with her family and friends. Lora was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years and her brother, Donald Skiff. She is survived by her daughter, Rosalind Hervey and husband, Lance Elliott, Heather Shade and husband, David Shade; son, William Thompson and wife, Cheryl; daughter, Patricia Kim Williams and husband, Troy; son, John Thompson, III and wife, Susan; grandchildren; Catherine Hervey, Abraham Elliott, Justin and Kassie Shade, Heather and Greg Zamenski, Byron and Hannah Thompson and Will, Jack and Drew Thompson and her caregiver, Mildred Barajas. The family would like to give a special thanks to VITAS Hospice team 557.
