Lorene Miller Shoemaker Alexander

Lorene Miller Shoemaker Alexander, born April 30, 1911 in Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania died peacefully in The Lord on Monday, March 9, 2009, having been united to the Risen Christ in Holy Baptism in the First Lutheran Church in Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania.

Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Mary Miller Shoemaker; her husband, Myrl Early Alexander, retired Director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons; by her sister, Lena Shoemaker Johnson, and by her grandson Laurence Michael Hibbs.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Joane Alexander Hibbs and husband, The Rt. Rev. Robert B. Hibbs; by her son, John Lester Alexander II and wife Patricia Smith Alexander; and by her grandchildren, David Gregory Hibbs and wife Jane, Lisa Marie White and husband Charley, Brett Wade Alexander and wife Jane, and Mark Edward Alexander and wife Julia. In addition, Mrs. Alexander is survived by a brother, Miller Shoemaker and by sisters Margaret Shoemaker Smith, Alma Shoemaker Moyer, Carolyn Shoemaker Dale, Mary K. Shoemaker Ruhl and husband Robert and by ten great grandchildren.
