Loretta Joan Mihalow Morrison

Loretta is preceded in death by her husband Stephen R. Morrison; her parents Nicholas and Marion (Bennett) Mihalow; her ex-husband Dean C. McGarry, Jr.; her siblings Frances (Andrew) Mayer, Lillian (Walter) Lazar, Donald John Mihalow, Mary Louise "Dee" (Eugene) Graham, Carol Joy (Frank) Morini, Gail (Clayton) Summers, Madeline Ruth Mihalow, Nicholas "Bud" Mihalow and Leonard Mihalow.

She is survived by her daughters Kelly McGarry, Mary Ann McGarry (Anthony Zepeda) and Erin (John) Stroud; her nine grandchildren Mia Lauer, Chloe Lauer, Adam Stroud, Katherine Lauer, Anna Stroud, Julia Stroud, Nicholas Zepeda, Benjamin Lauer, and Alexander Zepeda; her step-sons Brian (Susan) Morrison and Robert Morrison (Caroline Abe); her three step-grandchildren Kiah, Griffin, and Isabel Morrison; her sisters Roberta (Frank) Lawther, Jeanette (Ray) McDonald, Dawn (Vince) Tomei, Barbara Mihalow and Kathleen Jill Mihalow (Gary McFerren). Loretta had thirty-one neices and nephews.

Loretta was a Sister with the Sisters of St. Joseph Convent in Baden, PA. She was a registered nurse (Carlow College) and earned a Master's degree in human resource management (Webster University). She was a Major in the U.S. Air Force who earned her wings as a flight nurse. She was a veteran who served at a military hospital in England during the Persian Gulf War. She also served a one-year tour-of-duty in Kun San South Korea.

Friends and family are invited to a committal service for Loretta which will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 10am at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, TX 78209. Following this service, all are invited to a luncheon from 11am until 1pm at Sunset NW Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Rd., San Antonio, TX 78238.
