Mrs. Loretta Ann Resendez

Loretta was a devoted Christian whose life was marked by faith, love, and quiet strength. She was a loving, kind, and selfless woman who gave generously of herself to everyone around her. Her greatest joy came from caring for her family and making sure those she loved were supported, encouraged, and surrounded by comfort. She lived a life of service in the truest sense, offering steady devotion, a warm heart, and a faithful spirit in all she did.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Resendez, and her sister, Irene Rangel. She is survived by her daughters, Katherine Rodriguez and her husband, Richard Rodriguez, and Genevieve Finn and her husband, Ray Finn. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Jordan Shows, Adam Rodriguez, Madeline Rodriguez, and Jessica Shows. Her surviving siblings include Martha Reeder, Lea Reeder, and Lonnie Reeder. Loretta treasured her family deeply, and her love for them was evident in the many ways she nurtured, guided, and encouraged them throughout her life.

Loretta devoted herself as a housewife and homemaker, and she took great pride in supporting her children and grandchildren, whom she helped raise. She was especially committed to helping them pursue higher education and career goals, always offering encouragement, wisdom, and unconditional love. Her family knew they could count on her steadfast presence, her gentle guidance, and her belief in their potential. Her role in their lives was immeasurable, and the legacy of her care will continue to be felt for generations.

Her days were filled with simple but meaningful joys. She loved talking on the phone with friends and family, staying connected to the people who mattered most to her. She enjoyed caring for her dog, Charlie, who was a faithful companion. She found happiness in cooking and feeding her family, and she took pride in keeping her home clean and organized. She also enjoyed shopping for household items, clothes, and groceries, always making sure her home and loved ones were well cared for. One of her favorite pastimes was yardwork and gardening, and she and her husband created a beautiful rose garden together that continues to flourish as a lasting symbol of their love. She also enjoyed keeping up with her family on Facebook, where she remained interested in the lives of those she loved.

Loretta’s life was a reflection of Christian values lived out each day through humility, devotion, and compassion. She understood the importance of family, faith, and perseverance, and she carried those values with grace. Her presence brought peace and comfort to those around her, and her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, her loved ones take comfort in knowing that she is now in the presence of the Lord, where there is eternal rest and joy.

Those who knew Loretta will remember her for her loving spirit, her kind heart, and the many ways she gave of herself without hesitation. She leaves behind a family bound together by her example of faith and devotion, and her influence will continue to guide them. Her life was a beautiful testimony to the power of love, the strength of family, and the grace of a Christian woman who lived each day with purpose.

A visitation will take place from 5:00-7:00 PM, on Thursday September 10, at Porter Loring Mortuary West, with a rosary to follow at 7:00 PM.

A procession will take place at 9:45 AM on Friday, September 11, departing from Porter Loring Mortuary West and proceeding to Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
