

It is with deep sorrow and abiding love that we announce the passing of Lorna Fungkim Zane, age 93, of San Antonio, Texas, who entered eternal rest on August 28, 2025. Lorna’s life was a beautiful reflection of compassion, strength, and unwavering faith—qualities that touched everyone who knew her.
Born on February 14, 1932 in Hong Kong, China, Lorna lived a life defined by service, grace, and devotion. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing and became a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, dedicating her career to caring for others with professionalism, gentleness, and skill. She also proudly served her country in the United States Army, carrying her sense of duty and integrity into every chapter of her life.
Lorna had a deep love for the world and its wonders, collecting treasures from across the globe that reflected her curiosity and appreciation for beauty. Her warmth, generosity, and love for life were evident in every conversation, every act of kindness, and every prayer she offered on behalf of others.
She will be remembered most of all for her deep and abiding faith—her love for God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit was the foundation of her life. Her prayer life was rich, powerful, and constant, a true source of strength for herself and those she loved.
Lorna was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Violet Zane, her twin sister, Audrey Zane, and her brothers Maurice Zane Sr. and Ronald Zane. She is survived by her cherished niece Jan Zane, nephews Hew Zane, Maurice Zane Jr., and Edwin Zane, and niece Christine Zane, all of whom carry her memory in their hearts.
Though Lorna has departed from this world, the light she brought into our lives will never be dimmed. She will be remembered always for her love, her care, and her devotion—to her family, her community, and most importantly, to her Lord.

A funeral service will be held for Lorna Fungkim Zane on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at 10 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church 8134 Blanco Rd. A committal service is to follow on September 16, 2025 at 11:30 AM at Holy Cross Cemetery 17501 Nacogdoches Rd.
