He was preceded in death by his father Louis S. Garcia, as well as his suerga Alicia Carreon de Nava. Louis retired as a customer service agent at FedEx two years ago after having served the company for more than two decades. He was a connoisseur of food and enjoyed accompanying his children in discovering new cuisines, surprising his wife with random lunches during her lunch breaks. as well as simply checking in on his loved ones through telephone calls, messages and more just to bring a smile to their days. He was also an avid collector of guitars, and enjoyed strumming and singing songs with his children. What genuinely made him happy was to see others happy, and if he could contribute towards that goal, he would do it.

My deepest sympathies to the Garcia Family. You are family to me. My heart hurts for each of you very much. My Bucko was a wonderful person. He was gentle, kind, loving and crazy all rolled into one. He had no idea how many people loved him. I have so many great memories of all the things we did together. We meet at Jefferson High School our freshman year of school. We became great buddies during those years. Our friendship evolved into a brotherhood among Roy, Fernando, Louis and me. We called each other “Buckos”, as a term of endearment. During our high school years we often went to play pool. Sometimes teaming up as partners. He was an awesome pool player. With over 45 years of friendship, we were actively involved in each other’s lives. I had the upmost privileged to work side by side with Louie for many years at Fedex when we were both couriers. We made a great team, always helping each other on our delivery routes. We spent many years enjoying quality time at our annual Bucko Thanksgiving feast. We talked weekly on the phone and exchanged many text messages too. I can’t believe he is gone. I hold his memory dearly in my heart. He left an impression that will never be forgotten. I loved my brother Louie. I am deeply sadden with his departure on this earth. But I know we will meet again one sweet day. I’m really gonna miss my brother, my Bucko. I know he isn’t alone, he has his dad, Uncles, aunts and Fernando with him in heaven.

My favorite memory of my cousin Dennis was how he would always refer to my Dad as “Uncle Cris”. It was an Anglicizing of my Dad’s (and my) middle name, Cruz, that I believe was actually coined by Dennis’ dad, my uncle Louis. My uncle Louis always treated my Dad like a brother, rather than a brother-in-law, and Dennis had his father’s same kind, gentle heart. May his soul, and the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. ❤️

My sincerest condolences and love to comadre Lilia, Jeannette, Adrian & Devon, Sergio along with Cathy, Max and family. My primo/hermano Dennis was one of a kind. He had a heart of gold. He was kind and loving to everyone. Growing up, he treated me like his own sister. He was always very protective of Cathy and I when we were young teens. He was my compadre, my beloved Bucko and I loved him dearly. He was always so thoughtful, remembering to call or text for every holiday or birthdays. I will miss his weekly phone calls to check up on us. We would have long conversations about life, family, work and health. We are both chatter boxes and enjoyed talking to each other. We exchanged text messages often and we always end our calls and text messages with “I love you”. He had such a huge impact on my life. He is so deeply loved and will be so tremendously missed. He left such wonderful memories of the good times we shared. His departure has left a huge void and sadness in my heart. But I take great comfort knowing he was welcomed in God’s heavenly kingdom with open arms and he was greeted by our loved ones who passed before him. Please know how much I love each of you. You are in my thought and prayers. May God give you strength during these difficult days ahead.

Dennis was my cousin and son of my Godparents. My earliest memory of him was when we were at St. Timothy kindergarten. Later in life we also attended Jefferson H.S. together.

You will be missed Primo
