He and his wife, Vivian, were long time residents of San Antonio since the late 1940's.
L. B. served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a co-pilot on a B-24 during WWII, 1943-1945, serving with the 8th Air Force, 2nd Air Division in England. He retired from the Air Reserve in 1971.
L. B. graduated from Trinity University in 1947 and immediately began a career in the office of the registrar. He ultimately became Registrar serving until his retirement in 1983.
He enjoyed playing sports and watching them and regretted he was unable to participate as much as he would have liked in his later years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian, his brother, James B. Higgins, Jr. and his parents. He is survived by his nephew, James B. Higgins, III of Alvin, Texas.
