

Born on December 14, 1949, in San Antonio TX, Louis was a dedicated member of the U.S. Army, serving his country with distinction during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he retired from his position at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, where he spent many years contributing to the nation's defense and supporting fellow servicemen and women.
Louis devoted much of his time to his family, who were the center of his life. Whether on camping trips, family gatherings, or simply enjoying the outdoors, he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He was an avid fisherman and boater, often spending his weekends on the water, where he found peace and joy. His love for nature was matched only by his deep affection for his family, with whom he shared many fond memories of time spent together in the great outdoors.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Luis OCampo Sr., Angelita G. OCampo, his beloved wife, Melva R. Ocampo, baby sister Lilliana Ocampo, and brother-n-law, Edward Herrera.
He is survived by his siblings, Mary Wilton Esperanza Herrera, Cahy Vela, Angie Cortez(David), David G. OCampo(Yolanda), numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation for Louis will be held Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd, San Antonio, TX 78211. A Funeral Procession will depart the funeral home at 9:00 AM for a rosary to begin at 9:30 AM at St. Clare Catholic Church followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10:00 AM. Military honors will occur Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 1:30 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
