He is preceded in death by his parents, Damacio & Juanita Ramirez; and siblings, Damacio Ramirez, Jr., Matias Ramirez and Consuelo.
Louis was a man who had a love of food, whether it was BBQ, steaks or barbacoa tacos. He savored every bite and let these small joys fill his heart. He also had a love of movies whether it was Westerns and John Wayne or Black and White Tarzan movies with Johnny Weissmuller. The love that filled his heart extended to his family and friends. He protected those he loved from the stresses of life by tackling them the best he could. Whether it was the daily challenges of making a living or helping those in need. He was stoic in how he approached life's challenges and didn't complain in accomplishing his duties. He also didn't seek reward or praise for his selfless actions. Besides duty he had a laughter and sarcastic sense of humor that filled the room with love and joy. HIs presence and his impact couldn't be denied to those who spent time with him.
Louis was also a man of intellect, he loved studying history, philosophy/religion and anything that challenged him to think. He wasn't afraid to question things so as to get closer to the truth. He encouraged his family to never be afraid to let the facts guide you to the truth. This form of intellectual and character based integrity will live on in all those he touched.
To quote Russell Crowe's Gladiator "What we do in life, echoes an eternity!" Louis's life will echo on in those he left behind. His love, intellect and presence will create ripples in the pond of life, each ripple carried on by those he left behind. He is an example of a man who did the right thing, simply because it was the right thing to do. He was loved deeply and will be remembered by family and friends. His life was an example of how to live a life in search of truth, love and to lift each other up to be the best versions of ourselves.
He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed, but won't be forgotten, his impact will continue on in the lives of those left behind, till we all meet again one day.
Louis is survived by his beloved wife, Alicia R. Ramirez; children, Veronica Thomas, Daniel Ramirez, Louis A. Ramirez Jr, Myrna Lopez (Nick), Tony Romo, Robert Romo and Jacqueline Louise Ramirez; grandchildren, Patrick Vela, Christopher Lopez, Kimberly Lopez, Anthony Joshua "AJ" Romo and Victoria Romo; great grandson, Kyren Reyes and siblings, Juan Ramirez, Diana and Sylvia.
