Louis Rodriguez, age 90, passed away June 20, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on June 21, 1928 in D'Hanis, Texas to Jose Carlos Rodriguez and Augustina Hernandez Rodriguez. Louis was one of eighteen children. Louis served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He completed 43 years service with the Government Services Administration in Washington, D.C. Louis and his wife, Elena, enjoyed world traveling.
He was an avid Redskins football fan and became a field photographer as a member of the Photo Press Association. He enjoyed many home and away games from the field close to the action. In their later years, Louis & Elena returned to Texas, settling in San Antonio.
Louis was very social and a great story teller. He made many friends any place he frequented. He was extremely generous and kind and he will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his wife Elena Rodriguez; daughter, Mickey Hansted; grandchildren, Reid Hansted, Nicole Ambrose; great-grandchildren, Sebastian Louis Ambrose and Deacon Reid Hansted; sisters, Maria Socorro Musquez, and Olga R. Spotswood; brothers, Ventura Rodriguez and Gilberto Rodriguez; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, Texas 78238 on Monday, July 1, 2019 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with U.S. Marine Military Honors.
