

He made his profession of faith on Easter Sunday, at the age of 14, at Liberty Road Baptist Church and served the Lord the rest of his life. He graduated from Jefferson Davis High School, Houston, Texas where he was in ROTC and Drama Club. He then entered Baylor University, to prepare for the ministry. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Baylor University and until his death was an avid Baylor Bear fan; while at Baylor, he was ordained to become a Baptist Minister.
He later obtained a Masters of Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Masters of Education from Southwest Texas State University. Louis served as pastor of several small churches in South Texas and one in West Texas.
After retiring from the ministry, Louis taught Marketing in NEISD; and mentored many students in job skills and retail. For many years, Louis taught Sunday School at First Baptist Church, including the first Couple's Class and the Homebound Class. He served as a greeter, TV phone ministry counselor, 4th Street Caf volunteer, and was on several committees over the forty years of membership.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and by son-in-law Ronald A. Ferrier.
He is survived by his wife, Christyne Sandel Thiele; daughters, Deborah Thiele Ferrier of Katy and Beverly Dawn Thiele of San Antonio; son, William H. "Dusty" Thiele and wife Susan Cole Thiele of Katy; grandchildren, Catherine Leigh Ferrier of Katy, Emily Christyne Thiele of San Antonio, and Sarah Elizabeth and Laura Anne Thiele of Katy.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.

Honorary pallbearers include 4th Street Caf Volunteers who worked with Louis. Other pallbearers include Bradley Rogers, David Kennedy, Odie Kennedy, Patrick Kaptchinskie, Dean Montemayor, Bonner Sandel, Richard Hunt and Joseph Hunt.
Interment will follow in High Prairie Cemetery in Madisonville, Texas at 4:00 P.M, and will be led by the Rev. Larry Soape.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church TV Ministry, 515 McCullough Avenue, San Antonio, TX 78215.
