OBITUARY
Louis Cunningham Webb, Sr. , first child of Harold and Sadie Webb, was born on October 20, 1921 in San Antonio, Texas. A sister, Barbara Ann, preceded him in death. Louis graduated from Phyllis Wheatley High School and then moved to Marshall, Texas to attend Wiley College.
Louis joined the Army during World War II. His unit transferred to the Air Force branch of the military, where Louis remained until his retirement from the Office of Special Investigation (OSI) as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 in 1965, after 22 years of service. His next career commenced the week following his first retirement when he joined the Defense Intelligence Office (DIO) -9ND/ Naval Investigative Service Office (NISO) in Chicago as the first African-American agent. When DIO and NISO became separate units, Louis was assigned to DIO, from which he retired in 1985 as Special Agent-in-Charge in Phoenix, Arizona.
While in the Air Force, Louis left San Antonio for assignments in Washington, D.C., Japan, Chicago, and Korea. Not long after his second retirement, Louis moved from Arizona to Texas, making his way back to San Antonio, by way of Georgetown and New Braunfels.
Louis died on November 5, 2011 in San Antonio. He was predeceased by his wife, Nona and is survived by Louis, Jr., Flores, Jr., Archie, Wilma, Marie, Catherine, Dorothy, Mary M., Toni, Zahra, Chuck, Mary L., Justin, Sarah, Stephanie, Kelly, Harry, Ruthie, Paige, Seth, Riley, Alejandro, Diego, Pedro, Jr., Noura, Tariq, Brandon, Kaitlyn, Alec, Victoria, Allison, Zachary, Richard, Jr., Michael, extended family, and many friends. The whereabouts of a brother, Harold, Jr., has not been known for many years.
