

Louisa C Gomez, aged 86, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully in her beloved city on January 20, 2026. Born on August 25, 1939, in San Antonio, Texas, she was the cherished daughter of Jose and Enriqueta Chavez.
Louisa was a graduate of Southside High School class of 1958. Still holding on to a binder she cherished from high school in which she wrote Louisa Chavez & Bobby Gomez January 22, 1952, Forever and Ever. She worked diligently at a retail store named Solo Serve, where she brought warmth and charm to all who had the pleasure of her service. Louisa's passion for life was evident in her many hobbies and interests. She was a faithful member of the Mission San Jose Catholic Church, where she attended mass regularly. Her love for Robert D Gomez began when he asked her to be his girlfriend in 1952. On June 7th of 1959 she became his devoted wife and enjoyed 66 blissful years of marriage.
Louisa had the admirable knack of making life's simple moments memorable. She loved spending time with her family, shopping at her favorite stores, and preparing her much-loved Nopales and famous fideo for her family. Louisa had a knack for lady luck whenever she visited the casinos in Las Vegas. Her favorite perfume, Red Door, truly reflected her vibrant personality, and her favorite color, purple, mirrored her royal heart. As a young girl, she was a fan of baseball, often listening to games with her father, and she was an unwavering supporter of the Spurs basketball team, never missing a game, no matter how late.
Louisa is preceded in death by her daughter, Nora Gomez, her parents, Jose & Enriqueta Chavez, and her brother, Tomas Chavez. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert D Gomez, her devoted sons, Johnny C Gomez and Robert C Gomez Jr., her cherished grandchildren, Stefanie Driskell and Robert P Gomez. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Nivea Driskell, Axel Driskell, and Landon Driskell, sisters Juanita, Amelia, Angelina, Pauline, Dottie, and brothers Domingo and Joe.
A visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, located at 2525 Palo Alto Rd, San Antonio, TX 78211, on January 28, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a prayer service to commence at 7:00 pm at the same location.
Louisa's life was a testament to her resilient spirit, her love for life, and her unwavering faith. She was a beacon of joy and comfort to all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
In the words of Louisa, "Cherish the time you have with your loved ones, for it is the greatest gift you can give and receive." She lived by this message, touching the hearts of all those she met.
May her soul rest in peace and her memory live on in the hearts of those she loved.
