Born on September 16, 1937 to Herbert and Margaret Bergmann in Northampton, MA, Luanne lived with deep devotion to the people who mattered most to her. She was married to her beloved husband, Don Perkins, from August 3, 1963 until his passing on March 25, 2022. Together, they shared a life shaped by love, laughter and family, devoted to their two boys, Darren and Glen.
Luanne was preceded in death by her son, Glenn, who passed away in 1996, husband Don, and sister Margaret Elliott.
She is survived by her son, Darren, and daughter-in-law, DeAnn. She took great joy in being a grandmother to Tyler, Victoria, Zachary, and Daniel, and a loving great-grandmother to Logan.
Luanne spent her career as a teacher, bringing to her work the same warmth, patience, and care that defined her relationships with those she loved. Through teaching, she touched many lives and made a lasting difference.
Grounded in her faith, Luanne was a beautiful example of loving Christ. As a member of Crossroads Church in San Antonio, she found fellowship, community, and a place to share her faith that guided and sustained her.
Luanne leaves a lasting legacy of love, laughter, faith, and family. The lessons she shared as a teacher, the joy she found in life, and the warmth she gave so freely will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew her. Her memory will be carried forward in family stories, moments of laughter, and the kindness her example inspires. Though her absence will be deeply felt, the love she gave remains a lasting gift—one that will continue through the generations she cherished and the lives she touched.
