

Lucia Arizmendez Rubio, loving mother and grandmother, born on July 17, 1924 in Hope, Michigan went to be with the Lord on July 29, 2011 at the age of 87. She was surrounded by her loving family. Mother prayed daily for her children and enjoyed gardening, sewing , knitting, reading and playing her lotteria tickets. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gregorio V. Rubio; and grandson, Otilo Morales, Jr. and sister, Velia Rosales. She is survived by her sons and daughters, Robert A. Rubio (Gloria) Carmen Morales (Otilo, Sr.), Ruben A. Rubio (Olga), Raul A. Rubio, Susanna A. Rubio, and Antonio A. Rubio; grandchildren, Debbie Brown (Matthew), Ruben Rene Rubio, Roberta Rubio (Juan Garza), Dina Fletcher (Dennis), Gregorio Rubio (Elvia),Crystal Gatica (Michael) and Christopher A. Rubio ; also, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson; sisters, Carolina Hernandez and Maria Guadalupe Valdez; brothers, Ernest Arizmendez and Felix Arizmendez, all of California; also, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00p.m.Monday, August 1, 2011 at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. followed by a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A funeral procession will depart from the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2011 for an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church, 746 39th St. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery No.2. The family expresses sincere appreciation and gratitude to Abigail, R.N. and staff at Christus Santa Rosa (Downtown) ICU Unit 3rd Floor & Vitas Hospice staff (Morningside Manor) for all the care and attention given to our mother.
