Lucille Alma Helmke Galm

Lucille Alma Helmke Galm, age 81, has gone into the loving arms of Jesus Christ our Lord on April 7th 2013. She was born on October 13th 1931 to parents Walter Helmke and Irma Kaderli Helmke in Comal County, Texas. She was baptized on May 15th 1932 at First Protestant Church of New Braunfels, Texas. Her family later moved to an area just outside of Helotes, Texas, where she lived for some years and attended Culebra school. Her family later moved to an area around Kerrville, Texas where she attended Tivy Highschool. She was married to Samuel Phillip Galm of Helotes, Texas, on September 12th 1951 at Zion Lutheran Church of Helotes. They were married 61 years. Upon her passing she is survived by her husband Samuel Phillip Galm, three sons and their wives, Phil and Shawnette Galm, Walter and Kelly Galm, Carl and Donna Galm. She has six grand children, Chrystal Galm Woodcock, Laurel Galm, Garrett Galm, Kaitlyn Galm, Tiffany Galm Strothers and August Galm. She has one great grandchild, Peyton Woodcock. She is survived by two sisters Lorene Bendele and Louise Jung. A third sister, Ruby Krueger, has preceded her into the arms of the Lord. We thank God for blessing us with the gift of Lucille’s life and will endear her to our hearts and memories forever. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 from 6:00P.M to 8:00 P.M. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church with interment to follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
