Lucille C. Fenner, age 97, passed away in Burnet, TX. She was born in San Antonio to her parents, William Edward & Mary Ann Terrill Carver. Lucille was a graduate from Alamo Heights High. She met her husband Gilbert while working as a bookkeeper and he as a teller at National Bank of Commerce. They were married in 1947 at Alamo Heights Methodist Church. She continued working until her daughter, Mary Ann was born and she became a stay at home mom. Once Mary Ann left for college, Lucille went back to work at Gross National Bank where she became a Vice President in charge of wire transfers.
Both Lucille and Gilbert were loving and generous and their daughter fondly remembers their trips they would take every year for two weeks. The most notable being their two trips to Hawaii and to the World's Fair in New York.
Lucille moved to Buchanan Dam next to her daughter after spending her whole life in their family home in San Antonio. She was braver than imagined, living alone in a big city, traveling to the Caribbean to visit her daughter and son-in-law when they lived there and embarking on a new journey in a new environment. Lucille was Mary Ann’s best friend and they loved to go shopping together.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Gilbert W. Fenner; and her brother, William Terrill Carver and his wife, Leona Carver. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Featherston and her husband, Bill. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
