Lucio Dominguez

Lucio "Lou" Dominguez, a cherished husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2024, in Spring Branch, Texas. Born on November 29, 1944, in Hondo, Texas, Lou lived a life marked by dedication, resilience, and love.

A master of many trades, Lou spent over 60 years in the barbering profession, owning several barber shops throughout the San Antonio area. His skillful hands and warm demeanor made him a beloved figure in the community, where he was known for his engaging conversations and genuine care for his clients. Beyond his barbering career, Lou also made his mark in security and owned a convenience store and bar, reflecting his diverse talents and entrepreneurial spirit.

Lou was the devoted husband of Laurie A. Dominguez for 40 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with joy and shared memories. He was a proud father to Kenneth D. Dominguez, Lucio Dominguez Jr. (Dora), Connie Dominguez, and Ruth Small (Clifford), as well as step-children Johnnie Mancha and Henry Mancha. Lou's legacy extends to his grandchildren: Cindy Lee (Jeremy), Kelley Salazar (Max), Lucio Dominguez III (Tracey), Stephaney McGraw, and Christina Moreno (David Sweet), as well as his beloved black lab, Max, and numerous great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life.

Lou is preceded in death by his mother, Alberta Salazar; father, Lucio Dominguez; step-grandmother, Conception "Connie" Salazar; grandfather, Sevedo Salazar; and his cherished black lab, Magic.

He will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, his passion for his work, and the deep love he held for his family and friends. Lou's memory will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched, and the many stories shared about him.

The family would like to thank John Henderson, Eric Eepley, Bill Warchter, Dr. Kahlenberg, Mike Krug, Ed Messineo, Mark S., Mr. Solis, Ernest Garcia, Adam Gonzalez and the people of Hope Hospice.

The family will greet friends at Porter Loring Mortuary North on Thursday, August 8, 2024, from 1:00 – 2:00 pm.
