Lucy grew up in La Grange, Texas. She worked as a teacher and elementary school principal for the San Antonio Independent School District, and was a decades-long member of The San Antonio Mastersingers.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Lucy is survived by her sister, Nancy Conn Reynolds; her beloved husband of 50 years, William M. Sherrill; her son, Craig Ellis and his wife, Ida; grandson, Skyler Ellis; stepdaughter, Julie Ann Berhends-Jones of Danville, Kentucky and her family; stepson, David M. Sherrill of Houston, Texas and his family.A private interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park.
