Luis Saucedo Gamez

Luis Saucedo Gamez, born in Staples, TX, on June 21, 1917, was called home peacefully to be with the Lord, on August 18, 2015 at the age of 98, in San Antonio, TX. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Luis was a carpenter and worked very hard to provide for his family. He was proud of the fact that he built his family a brand new two-story home, which became the family gathering place for breakfast on Sunday mornings, come rain or shine. He had a joyful spirit and always greeted everyone with a smile. He enjoyed reading, long walks and watching wrestling. He is preceded in death by his parents Emilia Saucedo & Severiano Gamez and his loving son Richard Gamez. Luis is survived by his loving wife, of 69 years of marriage, Carmela Gamez, his beloved children; Luis Antonio Gamez and wife Irma, Mario Alberto Gamez, Elia Martinez and husband George, Carmen Ingle and husband Edward, Hilda Roman and husband Tony, Rose Mary Elizalde and husband Javier, 11 Grandchildren, 8 Great-Grandchildren and extended family. The family would like to give a special thank you to all the staff at Heart to Heart Hospice & Season’s Alzheimer’s and Assisted Care for all their care and support. A visitation will begin on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 5:00 pm at Trevino Funeral Home 226 Cupples Rd. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home on Friday, August 21, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church with Entombment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.
