Lupe Reyes Jr.

It is with a heavy heart and profound love, we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Lupe V. Reyes, Jr. He left this world peacefully and surrounded by family. Lupe was a life-long San Antonian, he was born on January 25, 1948. His faith in God was his anchor, guiding him through life and inspiring those around him to hold on to hope and love. He was cherished not only by his family but by everyone blessed to know him. He poured his heart into his family, teaching us by example the importance of kindness, resilience, and faith. He was nicknamed “Mr. Google” by his family for his knowledge in almost every subject.

He graduated from Sidney Lanier High School and served as ROTC Colonel for class of 1967. He attended San Antonio College earning an associate degree in Mid-Management. He retired from USAA after 34 years and was deeply respected by colleagues. He then went on to retire once again from Constante Services, where he had worked for 8 years. He loved taking cruises to the Caribbean and Europe. He was an avid reader, and he enjoyed music.

Lupe believed in the Boy Scout of America program. He reached the rank of Life Scout. He obtained the Order of the Arrows highest rank, Vigil Honor. Because of his love of scouting, he guided his son Jason to the rank of Life Scout and nephew Christopher to Eagle Scout. As his family and friends could attest, Lupe lived the Scout Law and Scout Oath.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Sylvia; son, Jason; daughter-in-law, Irma; brothers, Joe Reyes and Robert Reyes; brother-in-law, Nowlin; in-laws, Patricia Garner, Dan and Christine Lopez, Inocencio and Sandra Badillo; numerous nephews, nieces, and godchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lupe and Christina Reyes.

We are so grateful to his nieces Alyssa Seagraves and Jennifer Degner for their continuous support and care for Lupe.

The family will receive guests from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Porter Loring Mortuary North, 2102 North Loop 1604 East.
