Lydia Porter

Lydia was married 65+ years to her high-school sweetheart, David Porter. She was especially proud of her 3 children with David. Teri – a retired school teacher with a Masters Degree, worked part time at a medical office in Bulverde. Son, Mark is a Dentist who owns his own practice and is married to his wife of 40+ years Lauri. Shemaine, the youngest, also has a Masters Degree and is married to her husband of 35 years, Matt, who is a Primary Care Physician.

Lydia was also very proud of her 3 granddaughters. Erin (a DVM) is married to her husband Cody. Haley, who has a business degree, is married to her husband Garrett. The youngest, Lauren, who has a Masters degree as an Occupational Therapist

Lydia was equally proud of her 3 grandsons. Chase, who has a business degree and is married to his wife Tiffanie; they have two children: a boy named Jack and a girl named Ryelle. Scott, who has a business degree, works in Dallas. Shane, who is a Dentist, works for his father here in San Antonio.

As was important to Lydia, all of her children and grandchildren, have degrees. They are employed in their professions in San Antonio, Dallas, Fort Worth, The Woodlands and Colorado.

Lydia was also survived by her brother, Pete Postel and his wife, Katherine and sister, Irene Olmiccia.

She is one of the few people who knew exactly what she wanted and got it. Lydia always wanted to be a wife, mother, and grandmother.

Lydia battled Alzheimer’s in her later life, and was disappointed that names were slipping away from her; although, she always knew faces.

She died peacefully in her sleep, after having lived a full and active life. She cultivated meaningful friendships through playing tennis and election to the YMCA Wall of Fame, bicycling, doll collecting, and numerous crafts. During her 65+ years of marriage, she always spent every night with her husband Dave, or, they talked each night on the phone during the rare times he was away on business.

Lydia had a life well lived!
