It was good to see all of you Saturday at the memorial to Uncle Lyle. Lyle was a brother of my grandfather, Owen Rolofson. I will always remember a time when our family had car trouble after seeing "The Sound of Music" at the old Cooper Theater in Lincoln in the summer of 1967. Uncle Lyle was so kind in helping us to get arrangments for our family car and driving us home to Seward, NE 25 miles west of Lincoln at almost 11:30 p.m. But, that was so characteristic of Uncle Lyle. 
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of his passing.

I had the privilege of being Lyles pastor for a few years in the early 1990's and nejoyed our conversations and friendship.

Distance and time have kept contact with extended family at a minimum for many years, but learning of the passing of a "Rolofson" requires a moment to pause and reflect. I remember my father, Wayne, has always been fond of his uncles and aunts; and Lyle was no exception. My thoughts are with you. Cherish your memories of a husband, father and wonderful person.

Larry Horstman, former teacher at Table Rock, called to tell me about Lyle's death. I was a 1962 gradute of Table Rock and had the pleasure of having Mr. Rolofson as a teacher. I remember going to the state FFA convention in Lincoln and staying at the house near 27th and Sewell. The address may not be exact but I think I'm in the area. Mr. Rolofson was a teacher that cared about kids. He provided guidance to those that strayed, reasurrance to those who lacked confidence, and leadership to all. I have spent 37 years in education and am thankful that Mr. Rolofson helped me understand how educators should accept their responsibilities. God Bless. Gary Fritch

I always remember Mr.Rolofson as one of my valued educators. From math and science to shop and FFA. He had high standards and a lot of respect and knowledge. I'll always remember our trips to Lincoln to the State FFA Conventions and he opening your home to us from the country. He always had our best interests in mind. Dear Maxine, Lyle, Jean: I remember Lyle very well when you lived in Tarkio. It has been a long time since I knew of your family and where they were. I talked to Lyle, Jr. once years ago in Lincoln. Sorry to hear of your loss. My parents died in 1977 and 1982. I hope Lyle's last years were comfortable for him. 97 is a great acheivement which most of us won't accomplish. Judy Flack
