

Lynda Diane Shaneman-Jackson, age 72, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017. She was born on March 7, 1945 in Coshocton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ralph Forrest and Loretta Mae Deffenbaugh Shaneman. Lynda was a 1962 graduate of Three Rivers High School and a 1965 graduate of Riverside School of Nursing. From 1966-1968 she was an American Airlines Stewardess and from 1969-1982 was employed at Metropolitan General Hospital.
On September 6, 1982, she married Carmault Benjamin Jackson Jr. who preceded her in death on August 6, 2001. Lynda is survived by her stepchildren: Molly Anne Jackson White (Chris) and their sons, David and Connor of New Braunfels; Thomas J. Jackson (Laura) and their children Colin and Sarah of California and Carmault B. Jackson III (Nancy) and their children, Matt and Kelly of Colorado; her sister, Sandra S. Pyle-Viers (Roger) of Ohio and nephews Shane A. Pyle of Ohio and Eric R. Pyle of Katy, TX along with cousin, Darlene Guess and son, Chad Guess.
She was a longtime member of Alamo Heights United Methodist Church. Her greatest gift was service to others as a nurse, a Stephen Minister and a grief Counselor.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 24th at 10:00 AM at Alamo Heights United Methodist Church-Garden Chapel, 825 E. Basse Rd.
A private interment was held.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Alamo Heights United Methodist Church or the Animal Defense League.
