

Lynn Lawrie Jones, age 71, entered into eternal rest with her Lord on July 23, 2009 as the result of complications from Parkinson's disease.
Mrs. Jones was one of the first babies born in Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston in 1938, the daughter of the late Maj. Gen Joe and Dorothy Gilmore Lawrie. She graduated from Penn Hall Girl's School, Chambersburg, PA., received her BA from Austin Peay State University and her MA from George Peabody College of Vanderbilt, University.
She majored in English, Special Education and Learning Disabilities and retired as a Consultant for Learning Disabilities for Oakland Public Schools of Michigan in 1994. She then moved to San Antonio with her husband, Don, and became active in the San Antonio Conservation Society, a member of Friends of the McNay and was a McNay Volunteer Greeter for over six years.
She also enjoyed the Tuesday Musical Club and San Antonio Symphony and tennis with friends.
She is survived by Don, her beloved husband of 36 years; brother, Bruce; and sister, Heddy; children, Scott of Tulsa, OK, Steven of San Antonio and Kathy of Oakland, TN; and four grandchildren.
She always had a smile and was loved by all who knew her.
