

Our beloved daughter, sister, and aunt, Lynn M. Kuckelman, 60, of San Antonio, passed away at home on December 27, 2011, after a lengthy illness. She was born August 4, 1951, at Great Lakes Naval Training Station, Great Lakes, Illinois, the fourth of seven children. As a military dependent, she traveled widely with her family during her childhood and lived in both Japan and Germany. Lynn was very athletic; she was a varsity cheerleader in high school and a skillful pitcher for a championship softball team in Frankfurt. Always an honor student, she was a member of the National Honor Society and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Colorado Women’s College in Denver and a Master of Arts in Clinical Reading from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. As a reading clinician, she taught remedial reading to many students both in Winnipeg, Canada, and the San Antonio area. Lynn loved to cook, was an avid reader, antique collector, and animal lover. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Lynn is survived by her parents, Karl Francis and Mary (Turner) Kuckelman of San Antonio, sisters Cynthia Padron (Danny) of San Antonio, Kristin Kuckelman (Neal Morris) of Dolores, Colorado, and Janet Sweeney (Gary) of San Antonio, as well as brothers Karl Kuckelman, Jr. of Broomfield, Colorado, Stephen Kuckelman of Denver, Colorado, and Mark Kuckelman (Pamela) of Long Beach, California, and nephews Andy Padron of San Antonio, Texas, Levi Morris of Denver, Colorado, and Connor Kuckelman of Castle Rock, Colorado. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 3:00pm, at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Defense League of San Antonio.
