

Mac Acosta went to be with the Lord on September 18, 2021, shortly after celebrating his 100th birthday. He was born on September 12, 1921, in Brady, Texas. He is preceded in death by the love of his life, his beloved wife, Adela E. Acosta; his parents; siblings; and Olivia, who was his second wife and companion for a brief period.
Mac was a proud WWII veteran who was wounded at Monte Cassino in Italy on February 11, 1944. He received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star along with other medals for his valor and service.
When he returned from the war, and after a long stay at Brook Army Hospital and many operations, he married his sweetheart, Adela. He then went to work at Kelly A.F.B before joining his wife Adelas real estate business, where they worked together for many years.
He was involved in multiple veteran and real estate organizations in which he held various leadership positions. He was the writer and editor of the local chapter of the 36th Division "Le-T-Bone" and of the 141st Infantry "Rabbit Twister" for many years. He was a smart, kind, witty, generous, charismatic fun man who never took life too seriously.
He is survived by his daughters, Maxine Dudley and her husband Terry; grandson, Matthew Dudley, daughter, Dell Gonzalez and her husband Leonard; granddaughter, Christy Hinchey and her husband John; great grandchildren, Addie and Ford Hinchey; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
A Rosary took place on October 3rd , Mass on October 4th , at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church with a private burial at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
