

Magdalena C. Zuniga entered into her eternal rest with the Lord on November 2, 2024, at the age of 93. She was born in Charlotte, Texas on May 11, 1931, to parents, Lorenza Garcia and Albert Calvillo, she was the oldest of five children.
Magdalena served as a Guadalupana for over 20 years, tirelessly volunteering at dinners, bingo nights, prayer groups, and countless other church events. Her commitment to her faith and helping others made her a cherished presence in the congregation.
Magdalena met her beloved husband, Henry, through a serendipitous blind date arranged by her future sister-in-law, Hope. Henry’s career in the Air Force took them across the globe, bringing them to England, Florida, Sacramento, California, and Abilene, Texas, before they finally made their home in San Antonio.
Magdalena kept the family close-knit and thriving throughout their travels, raising their four children with endless love and dedication. While Henry was away serving his country, she took her children hiking, fishing, and on countless adventures, creating cherished memories that will live on in their hearts.
She will be reunited in heaven with her parents, Lorenza and Albert Calvillo; husband, Henry Cortez Zuniga; siblings, Albert Calvillo, Arnulfo Calvillo, and Linda Montez.
Magdalena will always be cherished by her children, Diane Edwards (David Paul), Anna Marie Zuniga (Candi), Henry Zuniga (Kris), and Raul Zuniga (Randy); grandchildren, Melissa Cruz (Marc), Justin Edwards, Tori Ann Zuniga, and Dylan Zuniga Great-grandchild, Isabella, brother, Johhny Calvillo (Stella), dear friends, Rosie Gallegos, and Cecilia Muñoz; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Magdalena leaves a legacy of faith, love, and dedication to her family and community missed by all whose lives she enriched.
In honor of Magdalena’s memory, the family kindly requests potted plants and living arrangements that can be enjoyed at home, symbolizing her enduring presence and love.
