

February 23, 1952 – January 20, 2018
Mark DeLeon, Major, United States Army (Retired) of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on January 20, 2018 at the age of 65. He was born February 23, 1952 in Corpus Christi, Texas. After traveling the world, while in the United States Army, he moved his family to their permanent home in San Antonio. He was always a true Texan.
Mark is preceded in death by his daughter, Susan, and his brother Robert, and many other relatives who are all having a barbeque party at the gates of Heaven!
Mark is survived by his wife, Sue, his daughter Crystal, his brother Manuel (Judy) Vela, his sisters, Rosie (Ted) Longobardi, Dalia (Dan) Brown and Angel (Herb) Bourque, his brother Rueben DeLeon and many extended family members and friends.
Mark wholly understood and lived the concept of Duty, Honor, Country and God. He served with pride and distinction in the United States Army for 25 years. Mark spent tours of duty in Vietnam, Korea, Japan, Germany, and Iraq. He was an active Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus member for many years until his health forced him to the sidelines.
Mark enjoyed a variety of hobbies, such as building computers, stamp collecting, coin collecting, wood working, leather crafting, computer gaming, movie watching, gun hobbyist, grilling anything he could, and teller of Tall Tales. He was never a person to sit idle for more than a minute.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, Sunday, February 4th at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
