I served with Alan at Maxwell AFB and he was one of my best friends.  I really owe him  a lot for what he did for me.  I didn't know he had passed and even though we didn't keep in contact I will miss him a lot. Charles Henson

'I substituted for the vacant NCO position in the Coventry JRROTC position in 2004. I enjoyed working with MAJ. Kornicki. I am sorry that I couldn't make the funeral or burial at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.

'Alan was my Flight Commander at Officer Training School, Lackland AFB, TX in 1974. I liked him. He was a very principled officer, a great leader, and a gifted instructor. I carried a lot of his wisdom with me throughout my 36-year military career, and it served me very well. I am forever grateful to have known him.'

'I was in the JROTC program for 3 years in high school. Major Kornicki was a mentor, leader and I'm sad to have recently heard of his passing. He was a great influence in my life, and always cared about developing me as a leader but also me as a person. I'm sad to hear he's gone and I didn't get to tell him or thank him for everything. I know the holidays will be tough. I'm praying for the family during this time.im so sorry for your lost. He was a good man.'

'So sorry for your loss...the Major and I met at CHS a long time ago. We didn't hit it off right away...but as I like to say "he came around to my way." After that we became good friends...he'd stop in the office and show me pictures of the beautiful dogs back home (our in common love of animals)...he was a passionate man about his JRROTC program and rightfully so...it was a pleasure knowing him.'

'When I think back to high school, now a decade and a half ago, my most vivid memories are of my time in Major Kornicki's AFJROTC unit. I know that I am not alone when I say that he made a long-lasting, positive impact on my life. I would go as far as to say that I am who I am today in no small part because of his guidance during those four years. I am grateful and fortunate for having known him. 

I regret that I fell out of touch with the Major after graduating, but I hope that he and his family know how important and valuable his work was to so many of us during his tenure at Coventry High School.

'Mrs. Kornicki and Lacey I offer you my sincerest condolences. I had the pleasure of sharing a classroom with Alan for several years at Coventry High School. I was able to experience firsthand Alan's professionalism and dedication to his students. Alan never missed one day of work and was always one of the first teachers to arrive in the morning and one of the last to leave at night. He believed in setting high academic standards and challenged his students to rise up and meet them. Students appreciated Major's sincerity and his genuine concern for each of them. Alan was also greatly admired by his fellow teachers. He often went out of his way to share materials or tell interesting stories concerning his vast knowledge of history. Alan was a respected colleague and my friend. He will be greatly missed.'
