

He served with the Air Cadets of Canada while attending Mimico High School. Allan had a lifetime love of flying. At 16, he soloed and earned his private pilot's license before joining the United States Air Force Oct. 9, 1947 at age 17. He was decorated for his service in both Korea and Vietnam. Allan became a commissioned officer in 1956 and was an Air Traffic Controller. After retiring in July 1970, he earned his commercial pilot's license while working in Civil Service as Director of Ground Control Approach.
Allan married the love of his life, the former Joyce L. Campau in May 1953 and they spent 57 very special years together. After his full retirement, they moved from Michigan to San Antonio in November 1985. Allan was a prolific reader and a scholar of history.
As a member of the Officers Club at Randolph Air Force Base, he developed many great friendships.
Allan is survived by his wife, Joyce; two children; Dawn and Paul, five grandchildren; Nathaniel, Benjamin, Sarah, Rachelle, and Ryan; sister; Lois Cluskey and 2 nieces, Janet and Lyne.
A visitation will be held at Porter Loring on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 from 11:30am - 12:30pm.
