Born April 4, 1937 in San Luis Potosi, SLP, he was the son of Manuel Machinena and Maria de la Luz Cuadra de Machinena. He was the fifth of nine children, and always used to say "No hay quinto malo." He previously worked for Conasupo as sub-delegado for the Tamaulipas, Mexico region, and also for Fertimex in Matamoros, Mexico. In his later years, he loved visiting his grandchildren. He was always loving and giving with his family.
He is survived by his son Manolo Stephanie Machinena, of Los Fresnos, Texas, and his daughter Dr. Anne Machinena Alcantara Dr. Mario Alcantara, of San Antonio, Texas, three granddaughters, Sophia, Isabella and Alyssa Alcantara, and three step-grandchildren, Justin Robles, Chrisanie and Madelyn Diaz. Also surviving are six brothers and sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
