

Manuel R. Garcia passed away on February 26, 2015, at the age of 88. He was an only child, born on February 15th, 1927 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Jesus and Sabina R. Garcia. Mr. Garcia served in the Army at eighteen years old. He married Margarita D. Garcia on October 30, 1949 in Corpus Christi at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He attended St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas and graduated from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Mr. Garcia worked for Kelly Air Force Base for over 20 years. He was also a night manager at HEB for over 10 years. He served as an usher for Little Flower Basilica in San Antonio. He enjoyed baseball, golf, bowling, and hardly went a day without his Busch beer and John Wayne film.
Margarita D. Garcia passed away on February 27, 2015, at the age of 93. She was the oldest of four children, born on June 10th, 1921 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Thomas Dunlap and Luisa Guerra. She married Manuel R. Garcia on October 30, 1949 in Corpus Christi at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mrs. Garcia graduated from nursing school at Incarnate Word in San Antonio. She worked over 30 years as a surgical nurse at Baptist Memorial Hospital and as a pediatric nurse at Nix Hospital in San Antonio. Margie enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother.
Only hours after his death, Margie joined him to embrace their Lord in heaven. Mr. and Mrs. Garcia are survived by their adored daughter, Maria Enriqueta Garcia Lopez; grandchildren, Matthew J. Lopez and wife Denise Lopez, Melissa J. Lopez, and Miguel J. Lopez; great grandchildren, Isis Arianna Lopez and Draven Lopez.
