Manuel V. Martinez, Jr.

Manuel V. Martinez, Jr., age 72, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 in San Antonio, Texas. Manuel was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 13, 1949 to his parents Adelina and Manuel Martinez, Sr. He graduated from Fox Tech High School in 1968. Shortly after high school, he served in the Army in 1969 and served in Korea. In November 24, 1979, Manuel married his high school sweetheart Oralia, and they spent the next 57 years together.

Manuel spent most of his career at Kelly Air Force Base as an airplane mechanic for 21 years and later retired. He was an extremely hard worker and instilled that characteristic in his children, working several jobs until his 70s.

Manuel was a jokester and always had a good story to tell. In his free time, he loved to listen to 60s-70s music, running errands with his dear wife, watching the Dallas Cowboys & John Wayne shows and going to car shows since he loved the 1970s Chevy trucks.

Manuel was a loving father and grandfather to his two children Manuel and Linda and his three grandsons. He was a great provider and did not hesitate when needed the most. Manuel will be deeply missed by many of the lives he touched while here with us. We will always carry his memory in our hearts!

Manuel is survived by his loving wife, Oralia T. Martinez; daughter, Linda T. Martinez & fiance Richard Barela; son, Manuel T. Martinez III; grandchildren, Pharell Yarbrough, Noah Barela and Xavier Barela; brother, Ruben V. Martinez & wife Cathy; nephew, Ruben Martinez; as well as other numerous family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, Friday, July 29, 2022, at Porter Loring Mortuary WEST (located near Sea World).
