He was born on June 17, 1937, in Marion, Texas to Beatrice Villanueva Pacheco and Manuel Pacheco Sr., and carried the values of his hometown with him throughout his life. Manuel was a man whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and comfort to those around him. He will be remembered as loving, funny, and wise, qualities that shaped the way he lived each day and the way he cared for his family and friends.
Manuel found joy in the simple and meaningful pleasures of life. He enjoyed fishing, where he could spend quiet time reflecting and appreciating the outdoors. He also loved playing conjunto music, sharing the sounds and traditions that brought people together. He enjoyed playing slot machines as well, always finding entertainment in the moment. Above all, he treasured spending time with his family, which remained the center of his life and the source of his greatest happiness.
Manuel was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Esperanza Ramirez Pacheco, and their daughter, Katherine Robertson. Their memories remained an important part of his life, and he carried their love with him always. He now reunites with them in eternal rest.
He is survived by his children Nancy Pacheco; Manuel Pacheco III and his wife Rosie; Carolyn Medina and her husband Daniel; and son-in-law, Walter Robertson; as well as nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. He is also survived by his brother, Celestino Pacheco and his wife Minnie, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Those who knew Manuel will remember his kind spirit, his sense of humor, and the wisdom he shared so naturally. He had a way of making others feel welcome and valued, and his stories, laughter, and gentle guidance left a lasting impression on everyone, fortunate enough to know him. His family was proud of the life he lived and the legacy he leaves behind.
Manuel’s life was one of love, devotion, and resilience. He worked hard, cared deeply, and found meaning in the relationships he built over the years. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandson, extended family, and all who were blessed by his presence. Though he will be deeply missed, the love he gave and the lessons he shared will remain a lasting comfort to those who mourn his passing.
A life so full of love and family leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured. Manuel V. Pacheco Jr. will be remembered with gratitude, affection, and respect by all who knew him.
