Manuel Pena III

Manuel was born on October 27, 1956, in Ballinger, Texas, to Manuel Peña Jr. and Mary Gomez Peña. He attended Abilene High School and went on to build a dedicated career as an insurance claims adjuster, working for Fred Loya Insurance for many years.

On March 20, 1987, Manuel married the love of his life, Esmeralda Peña, in Lubbock, Texas. Together, they built a life centered on family, commitment, and enduring love.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Gomez Peña.

Manuel is survived by his beloved wife, Esmeralda Peña; his children, Anthony Salinas (Christina) and Elena Akbaş (Emrah); his father, Manuel Peña Jr.; his sister Rissy and his brothers Ray, Jaime and Abel; his cherished grandchildren, Sierra, Derrick, Destiny, and Catalina; and his great-grandson, Lucas.

Manuel enjoyed golf, playing poker and visiting New Orleans with his family. If there was a chess board in the room with his brothers he would happily challenge them to a match. He also enjoyed keeping up with his favorite basketball and football teams.

The viewing will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home followed by the rosary at 1:00 p.m., the service at 1:30 p.m., and the reception at 2:30 p.m.
