Manuel Riojas Jr.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Riojas Sr & Luisa Ramirez and his beloved wife, Rosa Riojas.

He is survived by his children, Gilbert Brosig, Diana Riojas, Mary Helen Medina (Raymond), Mario Riojas, Manuel Riojas III (Maria Chapa); grandchildren, Gilbert Lee Brosig, Mark Brosig (Nicole), Shane Leonard Brosig, Michael Hernandez, Jennifer Jimentil (Jerico), Desiree Serros (Mark), Rocky Sanchez, Angel Medina, Mario Riojas Jr. (Abigail), Jaime Riojas and Roy Andrew Martin; 12 great grandchildren and his sisters, Mary Navarez, Lupe Trevino, Janie Reyes and Lucy Reyes.

Manuel began his journey in music at an early age, quickly becoming known for his Bajo Sexto. As he was young he played in a band that celebrated the rich tradition of conjunto music. In his later years, he picked up music again reuniting with old friends.

A visitation for Manuel will be held Monday, August 19, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A mass of resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.
