Manuel "Manny" Ruiz III, 67, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born July 28, 1950 in Victoria, Texas to parents Manuel Ruiz Jr and Antonia Ruiz. Manuel was a retired school teacher, who dedicated his life to serving our community. Manny was involved in many organizations, such as the Alamo Business Club, Volunteer Conservation Society, and the Rainbow Garden Club. He spent 13 years as a Docent for the San Antonio Zoo, before serving as Head Docent for 9 years. He wrote the newsletter and planned many field trips for his fellow docents. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his twin sister, Diana M. Ruiz. Manny is survived by his son, Brian Keith Ruiz; granddaughters, Katie and Megan Ruiz; sisters, Delia Ruiz Anzaldua and Elvira Hernendez, as well as many other extended family members.
