On November 12, 1998, at 9:45am on a Thursday morning a baby boy was born at Methodist Children’s Hospital. Manuel was born jaundice, already seeking light and attention.
As a young child, Manuel was a lefty with NCAA and Pop Warner youth baseball and football. From the age of 5 to the age of 13 years old. He was a starting favorite player, that many coaches just loved. Manuel's true passion was playing basketball from junior high all through high school. He was a 3-year letterman, graduating from John Jay High School class of 2017.
His favorite color was red, and he loved to feel the pain from tattoos.
Although Manuel was the middle child, he was always a mama’s boy. He had a way of keeping everyone on their toes and was always looking for a little extra attention from the people he loved. His smile, his personality and the love he had for his family and friends are memories that will stay with us forever. Manuel loved being around family and he loved his grandmother Glorias’ Spam and Chile homemade tacos.
He always turned to his grandpa Sam for comfort, advice and words of wisdom.
He loved his Auntie Christina; may he rejoice in Heaven with her.
Manuel loved his daughter, Rylie, with all his heart. He never gave up and always tried his best to be the father she deserved.
Manuel was a ladies’ man, but he just couldn’t find the right one. While he hoped one day too, his greatest love and highest priority was always his daughter Rylie.
