People come in and out of our lives, and the true test of friendship is whether you can pick back up right where you left off the last time you saw each other.

My name is Rick Paez and I call Mannie a true friend. My wife and I have known Mannie and Del for years. Being in the Air Force, our assignments have taken us to many different places but somehow we managed to get assigned to the same place at the same time. Despite extended separations between assignments, we also managed to pick up where we left off. In my view, that is true friendship just as the quote said.
Mannie or Bro. Mannie as I call him is a caring and loving family man. He took care of Sis Del and their children Jonathan and Michaela. I know that for a fact because I observed him in action while we were front door neighbors when we were stationed in Japan. He is also a loving son and a brother to his family. He shares about his mom, dad, brother, and sisters often.
Bro. Mannie is a quiet, calm and jolly man of many talents. He is always there ready to help. As many of you know, he is a retired captain in the USAF. He served as a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit nurse who cared for many ill babies and helped them be nursed to health. Aside from this, he is an excellent cook, an accomplished musician, and a computer wizard . He loves playing the key board and has led our praise and worship during our Friday night bible studies when we were in Japan. He is also an avid fitness fanatic. He loves working out in the gym. I can still remember how strong he was when he helped my family moved to our current house. Between he and I, we moved some heavy stuff. 
You may be wondering why I call Bro. Mannie, Bro. Mannie.  Bro.Mannie is my brother in faith. We both accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior. With this, I take comfort that even if he is not here with us right now, I know he is in a better place and we will see each other again in heaven. 
To Sis Del, Jon, and Michaela, we mourn with you for the loss of a caring husband, a loving father, and a great friend.
To brother Mannie, a true friend and a brother, till we meet again in God's presence. Over there, we will just pick up where we left off.

Rest in peace my dear cousin.  Your memories when we were growing up in Matamis will live on.  You and your loved ones will be in our prayers.

You were always an inspiration to all with whom you worked.  You were always willing to teach younger nurses how to be experienced in Neo-Natal ICU. You are remembered in my prayers.  I cherish the memories I have of you.

Dear Santiago Family, I am so sorry for your great loss. I feel fortunate to have known and worked with Manny in the NICU. He was such a kind person and a great supervisor.
