He is preceded in death by his parents, Luis and Teresa Marroquin Trevino and his siblings, Amalia (Alan) McKee, Herminia (Richard) Garcia and Luis Trevino, Jr.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Dolores Longoria Trevino; his loving children, Manuel Trevino Jr and JoAnn Trevino Avila and her husband, Steven; sister Rosa (Trinidad) Garcia and sister-in-law, Consuelo Trevino. Manuel is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews which he thought of as his children as well. Many extended family members and all of whom were touched by his kindness and loving spirit.
Manuel Trevino proudly served his country in the US Army and retired from the US Air Force Reserve. There he fondly gained the nickname “Mr. T” from his friends from his time at Kelly Air Force Base, Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD), Tinker Air Force Base, and the 149th Fighter Wing, Texas Air National Guard at Lackland Air Force Base. His friends were his brothers, always. They would regularly meet for breakfast and to catch up with.
He proudly loved his family dearly. Enjoying any family gathering to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He was known to them as Popo. He loved sports and cheering on his favorite teams, the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs. For those that knew him well, knew he always had a joke or two to tell. He loved to laugh; his laugh and smile was always so contagious. He loved to travel! He and his wife would take off and just see where the road would take them. They did cross country trips and would stop and visit with family along the way. He loved to watch his western movies, even though he had seen them many times before. So long as he was with his wife, all was good in the world.
While even on his last days, he was more concerned about his loving wife. Making sure she was ok. If she was ok, he was ok. Though his absence is deeply felt and our hearts ache, his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he loved, especially his beloved, his wife and soulmate.
