

She is the 2nd oldest of 10 brothers and sisters. She was raised in Emiliano Zapata in the State of Zacatecas Mexico before moving to San Antonio, Texas. She married her husband, Jose Alaniz Gomez on January 20, 1947 and they spent 57 years together until his passing in 2004, she is also preceded in death by her son, Francisco Gomez.
Manuela was a hard worker, with many various jobs including a housewife, a mother, farm laborer, vegetable packer and owner of her own bar. She loved taking care of her many plants, sewing, crocheting and cheering on the San Antonio Spurs. Family would describe her as the life of the party, always smiling, sharing jokes and singing at family gatherings.
Manuela is survived by her children, Macario Montanez Gomez, Jose Montanez Gomez (Sandra), Jose Antonio Gomez (Rebecca), Maria Del Rosario Rodriguez (Rafael) and grandson she raised as her own son, Joe Dian Gomez (Ricardo); 24 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and 19 great great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022 from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Trevino Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 10:00 am at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church with interment to follow at First Memorial Park Cemetery.
