She was the wonderful wife of James Woodson, the marvelous mother of Donna Doyle and Susan Woodson, and the absolute grand, grandmother of Lana, David, Jason and Neva. Her one remaining sibling, Helen Enright resides in St. Louis.
She was looked upon by many of her nieces and nephews as a second mother, especially the "Seven St. Louis Girls", one of which is now residing in Indianapolis, and one in Kansas City. Almost 60 years ago, shortly after a St. Louis wedding, where she was raised, she and Jim relocated to San Antonio. Marcella was reluctant to leave her hometown but the weather, people and general atmosphere of this Texas City charmed her into being a "forever after" Texan. Marcella had a giving heart full of gold, and donated to a variety of worthwhile causes, helping those less fortunate than herself.
She was a skilled homemaker and home baker and a gardeners delight. Under her care outdoor plants & flowers bloomed & smiles and indoor greenery never died or dried and grew happily the year around. We will miss you dearly, Marcella.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, July 2, 2010, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
