Marco Antonio Martinez

Marco Antonio Martinez, age 42, passed away on October 4, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. Born on December 19, 1982, in Chicago, Illinois, to Joe Martinez and Maria Rodriguez, Marco was a beloved husband, son, uncle, cousin and friend whose warmth, kindness, and joyful spirit touched many lives.

Marco was married to the love of his life, Margot Ortiz, who stood faithfully by his side through life’s many journeys. Their bond was one built on love, laughter, and unwavering support, and together they shared countless cherished memories.

A lifelong fan of banda music, Marco found joy and connection through the rhythms and melodies that defined so many moments of his life. Whether playing his favorite songs at home, music was one of his greatest passions.

He is survived by his loving wife, Margot Ortiz, and two fur babies Coco and Catdog. His parents, Maria Rodriguez, Joe Martinez and Robert Monreal his stepfather. His father-in-law Alfredo Ortiz and mother-in-law Elida Ortiz. His brothers, Jose Martinez, Luis Martinez, Christian Martinez, Fernando Martinez. His niece's Jocelyn Martinez and Alianah Ortiz. His nephews Juelz Martinez, Marcos Zacarias, Sergio Ortiz, Zeke Aguero-Ortiz and Prophet Ortiz. His cousins, aunts, uncles and a wide circle of family and friends who will carry his memory with them always.

A visitation for Marco will be held Monday, October 13, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, with a rosary beginning at 7pm. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 4411 Moana Dr, San Antonio, TX 78218 with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
